The Des Moines Buccaneers annual open camp has been scheduled for Friday, May 30, Saturday, May 31, & Sunday, June 1. Players born 1988-1993 can participate in the event. The cost to attend this event is $300. To sign up for the camp fill out and return this form.
The Buccaneers announced today that Scott McConnell has been hired as Associate Head Coach. McConnell served as Indiana's Associate Head Coach prior to his arrival in Des Moines. He was a four year player at the University of Denver and a member of the 2004 NCAA Championship team.
Buccaneers President Shawn Edwards announced today the hiring of J.P. Parise as the Head Coach and General Manager of the team. Parise played 12 full seasons in the NHL where he was a two time All-Star. He followed his playing career as an assistant coach with the Minnesota North Stars. Prior to the Buccaneers he was the Director of Player Evaluation at Shattuck St. Mary's Prep School in Faribault, Minnesota. Parise was instrumental in building the Shattuck program into the premier prep program in the country. Under his direction the Shattuck program advanced over 20 players to the NHL including: Sidney Crosby, Ryan Malone, Jonathan Toews and former Buccaneers Noah Clarke and Kyle Okposo.
Hockey's Future recently interviewed Former Buccaneers Ben Ryan & Aaron Palushaj. The two forwards are freshman at Notre Dame and Michigan, and played against each other in the Frozen Four last weekend. Palushaj story here Ryan story here
