On March 11th following their overtime win against Tri-City, the Bucs held a live jersey auction to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Immediately following the game, the Bucs and MDA auctioned the jerseys off the player’s backs.  The auction raised $17,500 all of which was donated to the MDA. 

That same night the Buccaneers also allowed a youth AAU baseball team to sell Chuck-A-Pucks and game programs.  The Bucs donated $425 for their efforts.  Also during the game, the Urbandale Fire Department passed around a boot where fans could drop in their donations.  They were able to raise $575.

Bucs Help Raise Over $20,000 For Charity in One Week
March 14, 2006

The Des Moines Buccaneers have been very busy in the last week.  They compiled two victories that kept them in first place in the Eastern Division in the USHL standings.  On top of that, the Bucs were able to help raise $20,300 for local charities. 

On Tuesday, March 7th Buccaneer players waited tables at Mama Lacona's.  All tips collected were donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Iowa. The event raised $1,781 for the charity and was a very fun and successful evening.
