Bucs Dominate Gamblers 4-1 in Game 1 The Des Moines Buccaneers were able to start the playoffs off strong with a 4-1 win over the Green Bay Gamblers in Game 1 of the Clark Cup Playoffs. There was no score throughout most of the first period until Ben Ryan scored a goal with only :27 left in the period. The Buccaneers added two more goals in the second period from Aaron Palushaj and a powerplay goal from Jeff Petry. Green Bay made some noise late in the third period when Kurt Davis got an unassisted goal to cut the lead to 3-1. However, Ken Rowe put on the finishing touches as he scored with under four minutes left to give the Bucs a comfortable three goal lead. Buccaneers goalie Troy Davenport played a very impressive game in net by stopping 24 of the 25 shots he faced with the lone goal coming late in the third period. The Buccaneers and Gamblers will be back in action at 95KGGO Arena on Friday, March 31st for Game Two of the Series. The puck will drop at 7:30pm. "It will be Whiteout T-Shirt Night." The first 1500 fans will receive a free playoff whiteout t-shirt. |
