Bucs Roll Over Waterloo
November 4, 2005

The Des Moines Buccaneers win in impressive fashion tonight over the Waterloo Blackhawks, 6-2 at 95 KGGO Arena.  All eight of the goals in the game were scored in the final two periods.  This win adds to the Buccaneers winning streak.  They have now won five games in a row to keep them in first place.

The first period was left scoreless with many scoring chances that just couldn’t find the net.  It was filled with good defense and some great goaltending for both teams.  The second period amassed five goals, in which, four were on the Bucs side.  Waterloo broke the scoreless tie just four minutes into the period when Andy Bohmbach got a shot by Bucs goalie Troy Davenport.  The Bucs fired back with four unanswered goals in the second period.  Colin Vock led the way with two scores along with goals from Ken Rowe and Trevor Lewis.  The Buccaneers kept adding on as Aaron Palushaj and Kyle Okposo both had impressive goals to put them up 6-1.  Waterloo was able to net one final goal late in the third from Mike Testwuide to make the score 6-2.

The Buccaneers are in action again tomorrow night at 95KGGO Arena versus the Tri-City Storm.  The game will begin at 7:30pm.  It is Bucs T-shirt Night presented by Dr. Pepper.  First 700 fans will receive a Bucs T-shirt.  Kids (14 & under) get in for a “Buc” with a paid adult.  For tickets call the 95KGGO Arena ticket office at 515-278-9757.
