Bucs Win, Bucs Win The Des Moines Buccaneers (18-5-4) remain in first place in the Eastern Division with a 4-3 victory against Green Bay (12-14-3) tonight at 95KGGO Arena. With more then half the season left to play the Bucs already have surpassed last season’s win total with their 18th victory of the season. The Bucs thrilled the loud home crowd with an Alex Laseen game winner with just minutes left in the game. The Buccaneers jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead on goals by Ben Ryan and Andrew Olson. Olson finished the game with a goal and two assists. Green Bay was able to tie the game at two with goals by Brian Roloff and Sergio Somma. The second period showcased a goal from each team making the score 3-3 after two periods. The Buccaneers Colin Vock and the Gamblers Steve Silva were able to find the net in the second. Veteran Alex Laseen was able to put the puck in the net off of a rebound with less than five minutes left in the game to put the Bucs’ ahead for which proved to be the game winning goal. The Gamblers were able to come up with many scoring chances in the last minute of the game with their extra attacker. However, Buccaneers goalie Troy Davenport made many great saves to secure the win. The next action for the Des Moines Buccaneers at 95KGGO Arena will be on January 7th at 7:30pm when the Lincoln Stars come into town for the first time this season. It will be “Minnesota Wild Night.” The first 500 fans will receive a Minnesota Wild stocking cap. It will also be “Bud Night.” Two dollar draws on Bud, Bud Light and Bud Select. |
