West, Buccaneers Dominate Skills Competition

Monday definitely showcased the skills of the seven Des Moines Buccaneers that were selected to the 2007 USHL Prospects/All-Star Game as a member of the Buccaneers won all but one event in the skills competition at Young Arena in Waterloo. Forwards Rich Purslow and Ben Ryan came in first and second respectively in the puck control event as defenseman Jeff Petry took home the hardest shot competition with a shot of 95 mph. Forward Matt Read won the shooting accuracy challenge by knocking out four of five targets and goalie Matt Dalton came on top of the goalie competition with 10 of 12 saves. The Western Division was able to win the shootout(6-4) and the overall skills competition(18-7).
