Dalton and Purslow Receive Player of the Week Honors

The USHL announced today that two Des Moines Buccaneers players were named player of the week for their outstanding performances over the weekend.

Forward Rich Purslow was named The Hockey Company’s Offensive Player of the Week for his six points in two games.  Purslow had one goal and two assists in both games this weekend and set up the game winning goal on Saturday.  His plus/minus was +4 over the two games as well.  Rich is second in the USHL in scoring with 51 points on 16 goals and 35 assists.

Goalie Matt Dalton was also named Stauber’s Goalcrease Goaltender of the Week for the fourth time this season.  Matt was 2-0-0 on the weekend and leads the USHL in wins.  He stopped 81 of 86 shots for a save percentage of .942 and a goals against average of 2.40.  Friday night he stopped 9 of 12 shots in the shootout against Cedar Rapids.  Matt is 19-8-4 on the season and also has four shutouts.

The Buccaneers are at home this Friday and Saturday night.  Friday night, the Bucs will take on the Chicago Steel.  It is Hockey Jersey Night – wear a hockey jersey and receive a ½ price ticket to the game.  Saturday night, the Bucs will host the Sioux Falls Stampede.  It is “Jimmy Buffet Night” – ½ price margaritas and cheeseburgers.  Have a chance to win a trip to Orlando courtesy of Allegiant Air.  It is also Miller Lite “Buc” Beer Night!  Both games are scheduled to start at 7:00pm.
