Second Round of Clark Cup Playoffs Set
May 1, 2007
GRAND FORKS, ND: What started on April 17 with 12 teams vying for the right to hoist the Clark Cup as the Tier I National Champions has now been cut in half. Tri-City defeated Sioux City 3-2 on Monday night, securing the final spot in the second round of the Clark Cup playoffs and paring the field down to six teams.
In a dramatic departure from years past, the second round of the playoffs will have a completely new format. The round will be a divisional round robin format, meaning each team will play the other two from their division one time, and each team will play one home game. In the event of a three-way tie, the tiebreaker will revert to the regular season standings. The top two seeds will advance to the USHL Final Four to be held on the home ice of the highest remaining seed the weekend of May 12-13, 2007.
The schedule for the second round of the playoffs is as follows. All games will begin at 7:05 p.m. local time.
