Bucs / Stars Team Up to Benefit Youth Hockey
September 17, 2007
Dear Season Ticket Holders:
As President of the Des Moines Buccaneers, I am pleased to announce to our season ticket holders that we are partnering with the Iowa Stars to raise money for the Des Moines Youth Hockey Association. This benefit game will feature two AHL teams playing on the Buccaneers’ home ice Monday, October 1st at 7:00 PM. The Iowa Stars and the Quad City Flames will face-off at Buccaneers’ Arena as both teams play their final pre-season game.
Due to a scheduling conflict the Stars had with Wells Fargo Arena, the Stars came to us in an effort to secure ice for their October 1st game. We looked at this as a great opportunity to not only give our fans another game here at Buccaneer arena, but more importantly to raise money for a great cause. We’re taking hockey to the next level here in Des Moines by bringing three entities together, Des Moines Bucs, Iowa Stars, and Des Moines Youth Hockey, for what should be a memorable evening.
Seating for the event will be General Admission at “no charge” with a requested $5 per ticket donation to benefit youth hockey. Buccaneers season ticket holders will have tickets for this game mailed to them this week, with tickets for the general public being made available beginning Monday, September 24th. Tickets can be obtained at the door the night of the game or at the Buccaneers’ Arena Ticket Office beginning Monday, September 24th. Doors for the event will open at 6:00 PM for Bucs season ticket holders, and at 6:15 the general public will enter the arena.
I feel very strongly about the 2007-’08 season being one dedicated to our season ticket holders. The “meet and greet” this past Sunday night at InPlay was just the beginning of “exclusive” opportunities the season ticket holders will take advantage of this year. The players had a great time in the game-room, and you can look forward to more fun opportunities coming soon.
Sincerely,
Shawn Edwards
