Another Buccaneer to the Gophers

Des Moines, Iowa --- The Des Moines Buccaneers announced today that forward Ryan Walters has verbally committed to the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.

A native of Rosemount, Minnesota, Walters was added to the Buccaneers roster in late August after he competed for the USA U-17 Select Team at the Five Nations Tournament in the Czech Republic.  There, he helped the team to a second place finish with a 3 – 1 record.

“We are all happy for Ryan and I know he’s excited about making his decision,” said Buccaneers head coach Regg Simon.  “We spoke on the phone last night and he told me it was just a gut feeling that he belonged there.”

Walters is the third player on the Buccaneers this season to commit to the University of Minnesota.  Third year player Michael Dorr (Roseville, Minn.) and second year player Taylor Matson (Orono, Minn.) have also given their commitments to the Gophers.
