Bucs Take Down Stars, 4-1

The Des Moines Buccaneers defeated the Lincoln Stars tonight in their first win of the season at the 95KGGO Arena. Derek Elliott scored the first goal on a powerplay during the first period. The second goal was scored by Nielsson Arcibal in the second period. Goalie Joe Rodwell had 26 saves in the game.  Both Taylor Matson and Nielsson Arcibal scored late in the third, putting the game away by a score of 4-1.  Three of the four Buccaneer goals were on the powerplay.

Join the Buccaneers for Miller Lite “Buc” beer night next Friday, October 19, at the 95KGGO Arena as they take on the Sioux City Musketeers. Friday’s game will also be Student Night. Students can purchase a ticket at half price with a valid student ID.  Also, gymnast Shawn Johnson will be on had to drop the ceremonial first puck.
