We are a nonprofit fan organization whose purpose is to provide support to the Des Moines Buccaneers Hockey team, a member of the United States Hockey League; its players, coaches, staff, housing families, and fans. We work with the Des Moines Buccaneers staff and fans to organize events and to promote Buccaneers Hockey.
Benefits of becoming a Buccaneer Booster Club Member:

- Social Events with Players/Coaches
- Buccaneer Booster Club Newsletter each month
- Meet fellow Booster Club Members
- And MOST IMPORTANT……SUPPORT THE TEAM!!
Here are a few events that the Buccaneer Booster Club has sponsored in the 2006-2007 season:
- Christmas Party for Players, Coaches, Staff, Housing Families, and Booster Club Members
- Christmas gift for the Players and Coaches
- Pancake Breakfast/End of the Year Party for Players, Coaches, Staff, Housing Families, and Booster Club Members
- Produced snack bags for long bus trips (Ohio and Green Bay) for the Players and Coaches
- Sold player buttons and photos, scarves, koozies, Bucs grab bags, and beads during home games
- Served food at Youth Hockey Tournament (Sloppy Joe’s, chips, cookies and brownies)
- Provided plaques as part of the Player Awards
- Discounted tickets to away games
- Birthday Night for the Players- Players and Coaches birthdays for the current month and half year birthdays were celebrated on the first Friday home game of each month. Booster Club Member Sue Dickman provided the cake, and the Booster Club gave players a ten dollar gift card to Quik Trip.
- Served meals and snacks at the Bucs Invite Camp and Buc Bowl
How we raised funds for the above activities:
- Membership Fees
- Collected parking lot money at Bucs games and other events held at the arena.
- Sold buttons and pictures of the players, koozies, Christmas ornaments, Bucs grab bags, and other items
What we would like to do in the 2007-2008 season:
- All of the bulleted items from the 2006-2007 season
- Welcome party for the players and coaches
- Welcome gift for each player
- Scholarship for one of the players
- Sell Buccaneers merchandise (koozies, booster club shirts/sweatshirts, mugs)
- A monthly bus trip to an away game
- Have a guest speaker attend our monthly meetings
Fundraising
What we need from you as Des Moines Buccaneers Fans:
- Your support by becoming a member of the Booster Club
- Volunteering for activities (working the parking lot, the booster club table before and during games)
- Donating food items for bus trips
