Beau hails from Des Moines. He played two seasons of solid defense for the Buccaneers (1989-90 and 90-91). He was a first team all-star in 1990-91, the same year he won the USHL's Curt Hammer Award for outstanding play and Sportsmanship. He was the first recipient of the Buccaneer Academic Achievement Award, as well as the Community Service Award in 1991. Beau starred four years at the United States Air Force Academy and was their captain during his senior season.

Even though John was injured for part of his only season in Des Moines (1983-84), he still made quite an impression. He held the Buccaneer single season record for goals-against average at 5.04 until the era of Bob Ferguson brought a more defensive approach to the game. From Des Moines John went on to have an outstanding hockey career, playing at the University of Minnesota; with the 1988 U.S. Olympic Team; and later in the Boston Bruins organization and parts of several seasons in the NHL.
Scott Clemmenson

Buccaneer goaltender from 1995-97.

After an outstanding career with the Des Moines Capitols High School hockey team, Scott contributed two highly successful seasons to the Bucs, winning the Punsalan Award for his contribution to Des Moines youth hockey. Scott then led Boston College in four consecutive NCAA "Frozen Four" appearances, culminating in a National Championship in the Spring of 2001. Scott now plays for the New Jersey Devils.

This outstanding goal keeper played for Des Moines in our opening season, 1980-81. He was an ironman in goal and played in 41 of 48 games. He held the all time single season wins record at 19 until 1994-95 when Mark Magliarditi won 20. "Coop" was a favorite of Des Moines fans and was selected as Most Popular Player.

Paul played two seasons of solid defense for the Buccaneers (1983-84 and 1984-85). He was the Buccaneer's captain during his last playing season in Des Moines. He returned to serve as the Assistant Coach under Head Coach Jim Wiley for the 1988-89 season. His help and support of the Youth Hockey Division of the Greater Des Moines Ice Association (GDMISA) was enjoyed and highly appreciated for many years.

Don Geiger

President and Board member.

Don was the first president of the Des Moines Buccaneers and was a long-time member of the Buccaneer board. His vision and leadership enabled the team to be the phenominal success that it is today.
Curt Hammer

President of the Buccaneers from 1984-87.

Curt served as president of the Des Moines Buccaneers for three seasons, ending his term in 1987. Part of his duties included representing the Buccaneers on the board of directors of the United States Hockey League, of which he also served as secretary. In honor of the outstanding volunteer, both the USHL and the Bucs have awards named in his honor.

Scott Krueger

1987 USHL Leading Scorer.

A product of Des Moines Youth Hockey, Scott gave the Bucs three great seasons (1985-86, 1986-87, 1987-88). He was among the USHL's leading scorers in 1987-88. He furthered his playing career at Wisconsin-Stevens Point, leading them to consecutive NCAA Division III national championships, Scott has returned to his hometown and coaches the Des Moines Capitols high school hockey team.

Bob Nardella

Bobby played three seasons, from 1985 through 1988, for the Bucs. He was twice the team's leading scorer; in his final season he was also the leading scorer in the league. This flashy forward was named the Buccaneers Most Popular Player. In 1988 his was honored as the USHL's Best Forward and named to the leagues All-Star Team. He still holds the Bucs' career record in assists (130), points (229) and game-winning goals (16). He played Division I hockey at Ferris State and professional hockey in Chicago.
Ivan Prediger
Buccaneer Head Coach and General Manager from 1980-84.

After completing his professional playing career in Des Moines, Mr. Prediger became the Buccaneers' first coach and general manager. His dedication and hard work were instrumental in developing the Bucs into a force to be reckoned with in the United States Hockey league.

Mike also played three seasons in Des Moines (1986 through 1989). In his first season he received the Buccaneer Sportsmanship Award. He was selected as the Most Valuable Buccaneer in 1987-88 and 1988-89. He is the second leading Buccaneer career goal-scorer with 107, and all-time career short-handed goal scorer with 10. Mike was selected for the USHL second-team all-star teams in both 87-88 and 88-89.

  Daryl Seltenreich

Daryl played two seasons in Des Moines, 1981-82 and 1982-83. During that time, he led the Bucs and the USHL in scoring in 82-83 with 53 goals and 93 points; was a first team all-star also in 82-83, as well as the Bucs Most Valuable Player; tied for all-time Buccaneer single season short-handed goals record, with 7. Daryl went on to play Division I hockey in his home town at Denver University.
