DES MOINES, IA – The Buccaneers have announced their Hockey Operations Staff for the 2019-20 season. Head Coach Peter Mannino will be joined by Assistant Coaches John Lidgett, Kevin Lind and Director of Hockey Operations Sam Mayasich.

"We want to welcome John, Kevin and Sam to the Buccaneers' family," GM Tom Mannino said. "All three coaches come to our organization with vast experience. We look forward to them communicating, developing, and putting our players first as we strive to create the best player experience in the USHL."

Lind spent the past two seasons as an Assistant Coach with the U.S National Development Program. He also served as an Assistant Coach for Team USA at the 2019 U18 World Junior Championship in Sweden. Prior to his time at the NTDP, Lind was an Assistant Coach at his Alma Mater, Notre Dame for the 2016-17 season. As a player, the Chicago area native was a 6th Round Pick of the Anaheim Ducks and played four years at the University of Notre Dame as a defenseman. He is the only person in Notre Dame Hockey history to both play and coach in a Frozen Four.

Lidgett joins the Bucs after two seasons as an Assistant Coach for Aurora University (NCAA DIII), where he was responsible for the top penalty kill in the NCHA Conference last season operating at 89.4%. While coaching with the Spartans, Lidgett also completed his Master’s Degree in Business Administration at Aurora. Before stepping behind the bench, The Calgary, AB born forward played four seasons as a forward at Colgate University.

Mayasich comes to Des Moines after three seasons with the Sioux Falls Stampede as their Video Coordinator. Prior to his time in Sioux Falls, Mayasich served under Seth Appert at RPI as their Director of Hockey Operations. Raised in Eveleth, MN, his great uncle is John Mayasich, who is the all-time leading scorer in University of Minnesota Hockey history and played on the 1960 Gold Medal winning U.S Olympic team.

"We are extremely excited about our staff that we have in place for the upcoming season," Head Coach Peter Mannino said. "They will take an outstanding approach towards our players on a daily basis. Their character, personalities and work ethic will provide the players with an unbelievable environment while nurturing them on-and-off the ice to be upstanding young men."

The new Buccaneer Coaching Staff will be at Buccaneer Arena this week for Tryout Camp, which runs June 12-16 at Buccaneer Arena. The camp will be open to the public.
