DES MOINES, IA – Buccaneers’ Forward Harrison Roy (2000) announced his commitment to Boston College this week.
“I am blessed an honored to commit to a school like Boston College,” Roy said. “It checks off all the boxes for where I want to attend school and play hockey. Thanks to all of my family members, coaches and friends who have helped get me to this moment.”
The Lakeville, MA native is in his third USHL season and was just recently acquired by the Buccaneers in a trade with Muskegon back on Nov. 26. Harrison is now the second current Buccaneer to be committed to Boston College, along with Defenseman Timothy Lovell (2001). Roy took part in the 2018 USHL/NHL Top Prospect game his first season in the USHL.
“What a great moment for Harrison and the Roy family with this well-deserved commitment to Boston College,” GM Tom Mannino said. “Harry is someone we have had our eye on for a while. He has been a welcomed addition to our team and the culture we have built contributing in all areas on-and-off the ice. He plays an honest, hardworking 200-foot game and for our Bucs’ fans, that means he will go through the boards at Buccaneer Arena. We look forward to him advancing his hockey and academic career carrying those great qualities and many others on to Coach York and the Eagles.”
Des Moines has their final two games, before the League wide Holiday Break, this weekend down in Lincoln vs. the Stars. Both games kick off at 7:05 Friday and Saturday night from the Ice Box. Tune in to the Buccaneer Broadcast Network on HockeyTV or Mixlr.
