Bucs Beat Black Hawks

Des Moines comes out on top after a Bucs dominated 1st period at home. Remington Keopple ended another 60 minutes with 24 saves on 25 shots on goal and Tiernan Shoudy brought in his third and fourth goals of the season.
Davis Burnside gave the Bucs an early lead scoring the first goal of the game at minute three, shortly followed by Tiernan Shoudy bringing the Bucs up 2-0. With assists from Ethan Fredericks and Cade DeStefani, Anthony Menghini scored his first USHL goal. Jack Pascucci served 2 minutes in the box for head contact giving Waterloo a chance, but they couldn’t capitalize. Shoudy grabbed his second goal of the game to end out the 1st period with the Bucs up 4-0.
Killian Kiecker-Olson started the 2nd period off strong with a goal at 2:27 bringing the Bucs up 5-0. Waterloo switched out their goaltender just trying to catch a break. The 2nd brought more penalties and less scoring. Waterloo got their first goal of the game at 14:15 that was quickly followed by a fight. Des Moines received 19 of their 21 penalty minutes in the period with Pascucci getting 15 minutes for major-fighting and misconduct-fighting. Jackson Dorrington spending 15 seconds of his two minutes in the box for tripping to end out the 2ndperiod.
The Bucs started the 3rd period with a comfortable lead and just 3:26 in Josh Barnes all but solidified the win with his first USHL goal bringing the Bucs up 6-1. Waterloo had eight shots on goal in the period but struggled to get past the glove of Cornell commit, Remington Keopple. The Black Hawks gave the Bucs a chance to score again with a holding penalty at 17:36, but Waterloo held them off.
