Finns Pub Buccaneer BroFile Jackson Dorrington
Our Finns Pub BroFile of the week is Northeastern University commit, Jackson Dorrington. We wanted to know about the Massachusetts native, so we asked him a few questions.
What excites you most about playing at the next level at Northeastern?
JD: I’m super excited to be a part of Northeastern, a prestigious academic university, and help their hockey team continue their success. It will be nice to be closer to home in Boston and I can’t wait to finally start working with the coaching staff there.
What was the experience like playing in the BioSteel All-American game?
JD: The BioSteel All-American game was an awesome experience. The equipment staff and True Hockey treated us like pros and getting to reunite with some old teammates was fun, along with playing with and against some of the best players in the league.
Past or current, who do you try to model yourself after?
JD: I like to take things from the game of Darnell Nurse of the Edmonton Oilers. He’s a two-way defender who plays hard and gets up in the rush.
Playing with your brother at Cushing Academy for a few years, how was that experience for you?
JD: Being able to play with my brother at boarding school was awesome, it made the transition a lot easier for me off the ice. On the ice, it was a dream come true for us from all the times playing together when we were younger, we finally got to play together. I wish we could’ve played together longer, hopefully our paths cross later in our careers.
From what I’ve been told, and overheard, you think the Maple Leafs are winning the Stanley Cup, what makes you so confident?
JD: Yeah, I mean the Leafs have so much offensive fire power that if they can keep it going and stay hot, they’re on track to win some the cup. I mean who doesn’t love to watch offensive hockey?
