The Buccaneers have added Slovakian goaltender Roman Durny to the roster today.

Durny is coming off a marvelous performance in the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships, where he posted a 2-2 record with the tournament’s fourth best goals-allowed-average of .925.

The highlight of the tournament for Durny was a masterful 43 save performance against the tournament favorites Team USA. The Slovakians shocked the U.S with a 3-2 win, in the second round of play.

“He had a great World Junior and we are excited to see what he can do for us,” Head Coach Dave Allison said.

Slovakia’s tournament ended at the hands of Sweden on Tuesday.

The Buccaneers take on the Team USA U-17’s at home this Friday and Saturday at Buccaneer Arena.
