DES MOINES, IA – Defenseman Arvid Henrikson announced his commitment to Lake Superior State University this morning.
“I am excited to join a great program like Lake Superior State,” Henrikson said. “I want to thank my family and all of my coaches for helping me to achieve this goal.”
In 2016, Henrikson was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL Draft. The native of Stockholm, Sweden joined the Bucs after playing for Örebro HK J20 in Sweden last season.
“Coming to Des Moines from Sweden and earning a college commitment is something Arvid and Coach Gene Reilly have been working towards all season,” GM Tom Mannino said. “It’s great to see Arvid’s hard work and dedication paying off, he will be a great addition to Coach Whitten and Lake Superior State.”
Henrikson becomes the fifth player to make his Division I College commitment this season for the Bucs.
“We’re excited for Arvid to get a chance to compete at the NCAA Division I level and to continue his education,” Head Coach Gene Reilly said.
